Donna
(April 1986 - August 1997)
Donna is the litter sister of Lady (Foxy lady of Carabaz) and she came to us when she
was exactly one year old. She had been returned to the breeder and needed a new home so
we again went down to the Isle of White to pick her up. Donna turned out to be an
excellent agility dog, she was light weight (for a Bernese) and competed at various agility
shows even getting a place in starters jumping at the Eastbourne Agility Show. She did not
like carting though, we tried, but she just went to strike when the harness was put on her.
She did have some success at showing, her biggest achievement was winning 'best in show'
at the Central Club exception show in 1993 (she also won best veteran). Her nickname was
'Diddies' and she had the habit of standing on her head when she was excited.
She had one litter during her lifetime and produced 3 smashing boys (Barney, Baxter and
our great working dog Ruddles). Always in our hearts.
